GEORGINA THOMPSON LEAVES POSITION AS RTM DOMINICAN REPUBLIC DIRECTOR

To the whole Trans World Radio family and friends,

It is my pleasure to greet you in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, on this occasion to share with you a very important announcement regarding changes that are occurring in the structure of our ministry in the Dominican Republic.

God has given me the great privilege of being part of TWR during the most precious years of my life: since 1989 when Brother Eduardo Feliz gave me the opportunity to join this ministry, we have done nothing else but work with great fervor and joy, and we continue to do so. When in 1994 and 1995 the office was affected by the transfer of its leaders to continue serving with TWR in other places, I assumed the challenge of the Executive Directorship, with the backing of a board of directors composed of honorable servants of God, some of whom are with the Lord today. For 12 years we have continued in front, with the conviction that God is faithful. We can count many days of hard-fought battles, but more than that, we can count many days in which we savored the honey of victory, with each testimony of saved lives, of souls built up, of families restored, of brothers fortified with encouragement and hope, in the whole Hispanic region, thanks to the daily transmission of hundreds of stations, of the programs that humbly, from our simple but glorious recording booth, we have produced.

With the passage of time, however, it becomes necessary to evaluate the past, the present, and make provisions for the future, so that, under God’s direction we can advance towards the development of a mission that enjoys good organizational health and, along with those of us who serve in it, can have the required capacity to offer our maximum potential in accordance with the strength that comes from God.

I say all of this as a preamble to my announcement of a decision that has been pondered thoroughly, through time of prayer and reflection, I have opted to leave the position of Executive Director of RTM as of July 31 of this year and concentrate on the role of program producer. This decision has been shared and analyzed for several months with our superiors in the national direction, as well as the Director of Hispanic Ministry and the International Director for the Americas.

I repeat, we are not leaving the ministry, but are changing directions in it in light of the fact that the two roles of management and programming are very demanding to continue being executed by the same person. Following our vocation, we have opted for radio production.

My greatest desire is that those whose backing we have counted on until now will continue with us with even greater commitment, if God leads you to support us in your prayers in the recruiting stage that begins immediately to choose a new director. We remember that the work is the Lord’s and it is God we serve when we are supporting TWR.

We are confident that this approaching change will produce greater effectiveness and development of the ministry of Radio Trans Mundial Dominicana and consequently the whole Hispanic region that we have the privilege of reaching.
